Crack detected on IndiGo flight’s cockpit window before landing in Chennai

Chennai: In a shocking incident, a crack was detected on the cockpit window of an IndiGo flight moemets before it landed in Chennai on Monday. The aircraft, operating as flight 6E 7606 from Thoothukudi to Chennai was carrying 75 passengers.

According to the reports, the pilot immediately informed Air Traffic Control (ATC) about the situation and was granted priority landing clearance.

The aircraft touched down safely and was later moved to bay 51 for a detailed inspection.

The airline stated that the aircraft will undergo complete safety and maintenance checks before being cleared for further operations.

Just a week earlier, another IndiGo flight from Madurai to Chennai, operating as 6E 7253 had reported a similar issue when a crack appeared on its front cockpit glass before landing.

That aircraft, carrying 76 passengers also landed safel and was moved to Bay 95 for repairs and glass replacement.
