Mohali’s Fortis Hospital, school receives bomb threat

Mohali: Fortis Hospital in Punjab’s Mohali and nearby schools have received a bomb threat on Tuesday. Security have been strengthened as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is also admitted to Fortis Hospital for treatment.

Chief Minister Mann was re-admitted in the hospital on Monday evening, hours after he was discharged from the health facility. Mann was admitted again after he experienced exhaustion, said sources.

According to officials, the threat was circulated via email to multiple schools in Mohali on Tuesday, with Fortis Hospital included in the same message. The dual mention set off coordinated searches across the district.

Police said they immediately conducted checks at the hospital with some non-essential functions were paused briefly They even carried out checks at the schools that received the emails, as investigators worked to verify the origin of the message and determine whether it was linked to similar threats sent in other cities.

On Wednesday, sixteen private schools in Mohali had received bomb threat emails, prompting evacuations and detailed anti-sabotage checks by police. After inspections, no suspicious or explosive material was found.
