Odisha sizzles under heat wave as temperature rises above 40°c

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is sizzling under intense heat wave as mercury continues to rise across the state with temperature crossing 40°c in several places.
According to latest weather reports, Jahrsuguda had recorded the highest temperature at a scorching 40.6°c yesterday, making it the hottest place in the state. Meanwhile, Titlagarh has record the day temperature of 40°c on Thursday.

Most of the places across Odisha are reeling under the heat wave as temperature continues to remain above 38°c.
The Meteorological Centre has predicted that the temperature will likely rise in the next three days. IMD has issued a yellow alert for hot and humid weather for four districts of Odisha including Balsore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur. Meanwhile, the Malkangiri and Koraput district have been alerted to receive thunderstorm. The Meteorological Centre has also warned that the Kalbaisakhi effects will continue to linger till April 6, 2026.
