11-year-old girl rape and murder case: Prime accused shot dead in Police encounter in Bengal

 Kolkata: The prime accused in 11-year-old girl rape and murder case is identified as Pravash Mondal, he was killed in Police encounter in the Baruipur suburb of Kolkata, West Bengal last night, as per reports.

As per reports, Pravash Mondal was taken to the crime spot to ask him to tell the sequence of the crime but he allegedly snatched the firearm from the police and tried to run away.

The three accused persons identified as Ananda Sardar, Pravash Mondal, and Dibakar Sardar were arrested and had confessed the crime. It is being said that the fourth suspect was arrested yesterday.

In the confession they said it was a preplanned crime, one of the accused took the minor girl to the spot where the other two were present and waiting. They sexually assaulted her and later murdered and stuffed her in a sack bag and threw it in a pond.

After the girl’s body was found in such a condition, a man was beaten to death by local residents of the area for killing and sexually assaulting the girl. The man had not done anything and was completely innocent.

As per reports, the girl had gone missing on Saturday after she had gone outside to buy something along with her family members. Family members said that the victim girl was forcefully taken away by four people.

Following the incident, the locals became outraged and performed violent protests in the area, blocked the road, burnt the tyres of the vehicles and reportedly damaged Police service vehicles as well.

Further investigation into this matter is underway.
