Defence Ministry Officer, pregnant found dead in Delhi, family alleges in-laws abuse

New Delhi: A mysterious incident took place in which a Pregnant Defence Ministry Officer was found dead at her residence in Delhi’s Dwarka on August 21. The family of the woman alleges that her in-laws including her husband used to physically abuse her.
The Pregnant Defence Ministry Officer is identified as 30-year-old Nazia Khanam. She was working as an assistant section officer in the Defence Ministry.
As per reports, Nazia Khanam got married four months ago in April with Azam Ali Khan and was also three months pregnant.
The family of Nazia said that she used to complain about her in-laws abuse, assault towards her and threatening with eviction or even death. The in-laws that she alleged were her mother-in-law, father-in-law and husband.
The family said she complained about the issue several times to them but it nothing changed anything. The family was informed about her death, the in-laws claimed that she killed self.
Following the information, the family questioned and suspected that this wasn’t self-killing but a murder. It also said that they are trying to hide the crime by posing it as a suicide.

The father of the victim alleged that her husband Azam Ali Khan must have killed her and wants legal action against the suspect.
As per reports, Azam Ali Khan was questioned regarding the incident during which he confessed that he and Nazia had an argument after which she locked herself in a room and committed suicide by hanging herself on a window.
Nazia Khanam’s body has been sent for post mortem examination, it is yet to be conducted and the reason behind her death will be revealed after that. The family demands that the examination should be recorded and evidence that will be collected during it should be preserved.
A case has been filed by the Police and the post mortem reports, family statements, and evidence are being waited for before further actions are taken.
Further investigation into this matter is underway.
