New Delhi: On Wednesday, a woman was killed in a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Minneapolis, which led to demonstrations and political confrontation between federal and local officials.

The incident took place when a massive immigration enforcement operation occurred in a residential neighborhood of the city. According to the federal officials, an ICE officer fired because he felt threatened in the course of the operation. The woman died at the scene.

Safety of officers is what the homeland security officials asserted had to be applied through the use of force. Nevertheless, Minneapolis city officials denied it, indicating that initial video footage does not back up the allegations that the lady was a threat at hand. Executive leaders of cities criticized federal agencies that offered false data and demanded the ICE to suspend its enforcement practice in the region.
