Odisha CM leaves for first official international visit to Singapore, to boost investment potential

This visit, aligned with the annual festival of Bali Yatra, symbolizing Odisha’s ancient maritime trade legacy—aims to position the state as a premier destination for global investments.
The CM, accompanied by Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and other state officials, left the State for a four-day official international visit.
In a move to further Odisha’s industrial growth and economic development, the delegation will explore potential collaborations and opportunities with industry leaders, investors, and policymakers in Singapore. The visit is part of the state’s broader vision to attract investments ahead of the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Summit, positioning Odisha as a key player on the global investment map.
Objectives of the visit:
- The visit’s agenda is meticulously planned to highlight Odisha’s investment opportunities, focusing on its rapidly expanding infrastructure and strategic sectors. The objectives include:
- Showcasing Odisha’s dynamic investment landscape and export potential.
- Highlighting the capabilities of Odisha’s fully operational ports at Dhamra, Paradip, and Gopalpur, crucial for import-export activities and global trade.
- Learning best practices from Singapore’s technological advancements, especially in chemical and petrochemical sectors.
- Inviting investors from Singapore to explore emerging opportunities in Odisha and to participate in Utkarsh Odisha 2025.
- Establishing strong diplomatic ties and fostering collaboration in areas such as skill development, technical education, and sectoral growth.
- Key Meetings, Strategic Discussions and Visits: The Chief Minister and his delegation will engage in a series of high-level meetings and discussions aimed at promoting Odisha’s investment potential. The delegation will visit Singapore’s renowned industrial and infrastructure facilities including the Jurong Petrochemicals Region, the Tuas Port and ITEES, accruing new ideas and inspiration to implement advanced solutions at similar facilities in Odisha. The delegation will also interact with top officials, including Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, to exchange insights on investment and trade opportunities.
- In addition, a roadshow and interactive sessions, will be organized to showcase “Business Opportunities in Odisha. The delegation will also connect with industry associations and the Odia diaspora in Singapore to strengthen economic and cultural ties, inviting them to participate in the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Summit.
