DK Shivakumar takes oath as Chief Minister of Karnataka

Karnataka: State Congress President DK Shivakumar, takes oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka today. He was carrying a copy of the Constitution while taking the oath

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered him the oath of office at Lok Bhavan’s Glass House.

The event was attended by Senior Congress leaders and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, party president Mallikarjun Kharge, and Congress chief ministers, including VD Satheesan, A Revanth Reddy, and Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. The event is also attended by several religious leaders, students, pourakarmikas, farmers’ representatives, Dalit leaders and Kannada activists.

Among those likely to take oath as ministers on Wednesday are KJ George, G Parameshwara(Deputy Chief Minister), Ramalinga Reddy, Krishna Byre Gowda, UT Khader, MB Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, Priyank Kharge, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, and Lakshmi Hebbalkar. In addition, either KH Muniyappa or his daughter, Roopakala Shashidhar, is also expected to be included in the swearing-in ceremony.

Ahead of taking oath, Shivakumar called on outgoing chief minister S Siddaramaiah at his residence today and invited him to the swearing-in ceremony at Lok Bhavan. “I look forward to the experience and guidance of senior leaders as we work for the progress of Karnataka and the welfare of our people,” Shivakumar wrote on X after meeting Siddaramaiah.
