Delhi techie on holiday found dead at Mussoorie homestay in Uttarakhand

Delhi: A 27-year-old woman from Gurugram found dead inside a homestay room in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand during holiday on June 14.

The deceased woman is identified as Gayatri and her husband as Soumya Sricharan, originally from Visakhapatnam. They got married in the year 2025 in November.

The incident occurred when Gayatri along with her husband had gone for holiday to Uttarakhand on June 13. On the said day they stayed in Rishikesh before going at the homestay in Mussoorie on June 14.

Gayatri and husband Soumya had consumed alcohol during the night and went to sleep late at around 3.30 AM. When Soumya woke up he found the deceased woman in a unconscious condition and blood out of her nose.

Following the incident, Soumya alerted the staycation they were at and had also informed the local police and ambulance service. Till the arrival of the medical service the woman was already dead and the same was pronounced by the personnel arrived at the scene.

As per reports, the woman’s body was found on the floor, the bedsheet had blood stains and even the floor. The food and empty liquor bottle were also seen at the room where this incident occurred.

Forensic team was also involved in the incident to collect evidence which is needed for examination.

No angles in the incident have been revealed stating whether it was due to violence or any struggles that she faced after being in the influence of alcohol.

The post mortem reports will help to draw conclusion in this case. The husband and the homestay staff are being questioned regarding the incident.

Parents of the woman have been informed and are expected to reach Mussoorie from Visakhapatnam today.

Further investigation into this matter is underway.
