The police have made the first arrest in the mob lynching case that took place before RCB’s victory parade in Bengaluru on June 4. The police had registered an FIR in this case with three people in custody. After this, this action has been taken. Nikhil Sosale was trying to flee to Mumbai. The police caught him as soon as he reached the airport.

The Bengaluru Police Commissioner and some senior police officers have been suspended in the mob lynching incident. Additional Commissioner of Police, Cricket Stadium In-charge, ACP, Central DCP, Station House Officer, Police House Master and Officer-in-Charge of Kuban Park Police Station have been suspended. Seemant Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner. IPS officer Seemant Kumar of the 1996 batch has been given the charge of the new Police Commissioner in place of B. Dayanand.

It is worth noting that there was a riot in Bengaluru after Royal Challengers Bangalore won the title in the 2025 IPL. On Tuesday, there was a stampede at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during RCB’s victory celebration.

In this, 11 people died and as many as 33 were injured. An FIR has been lodged at the Cavana Park police station in Bengaluru against the RCB franchise, the event organizer DNA and the administrative committee of the Karnataka State Cricket Association in this incident.
