Thailand: Student kills teacher before dying by suicide at school near Bangkok, police said.

One teacher was shot dead before a student opened fire and then dying by suicide on Friday morning at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Bang Kruai district, north of Bangkok.

Four other people including three pupils and another teacher, were wounded in the school shooting and sent to hospital for treatment.

Emergency services and heavily armed police quickly attended the scene to secure the campus and evacuate the students as the events unfolded.

The suspected gunman was later confirmed as a pupil of the school.

It has yet to be determined what the possible motive for the shooting may have been and investigators continue to analyze the attack.

The shooting has sparked calls to tighten security in Thailand’s schools.

While there are not frequent shooting incidents reported in Thailand and the issue has drawn increasing attention to the matter after a number of violent incidences in schools in recent years authorities have urged for patience.
