Ranchi: Ishan Kishan scripted a big moment in T20I cricket as he became part of a select company of Indian batsmen to score a T20I double-century.
Despite his stellar batting display, he couldn’t stop India from a six-wicket loss in the game played on Friday.
India scored a 249/5 after being asked to bat first at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. The other team scored 252/4 in 18.3 overs to win the match by six wickets and draw the five-match T20I series 1-1.

He also played an aggressive innings to give the hosts a good foundation but the visitors set them back with an excellent batting performance.

Sanju Samson led the way with a spectacular 82 off 41 and Shreyas Iyer scored 40 off 18.
“So too, Tilak Varma, who helped take India home as he scored a sparkling 44 from just 18 balls while the team surpassed the 240-run mark.”The West Indies came roaring back in style with an outstanding batting effort, led by captain Shai Hope, who struck a brutal 102 not out off 45 balls.
Sherfane Rutherford, 84 off 37 balls, was equally explosive support for the visitors with nine balls to spare.
Still, without Kishan’s century and despite India’s hefty score, the hosts were unable to keep the West Indies at bay and the tourists managed a draw.
The punchline of the result was India’s batting firepower and left the hosts with the challenge of making a comeback in the remaining games.
