New Delhi: Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was reportedly hit by a fresh missile attack on Saturday, October 10, leaving dozens of people injured and causing major disruptions to flight operations.
According to international media reports, Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels allegedly targeted the airport, with a missile reportedly striking a passenger terminal.
A diplomatic source told AFP that the attack occurred around 3 pm local time. A hospital source reported that dozens of people were injured, including at least five Saudi nationals who were receiving treatment in intensive care.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing loud explosions near the airport, while emergency services rushed to the scene. Several ambulances and helicopters were deployed to transport injured passengers to hospitals.
Following the reported attack, parts of the airport were evacuated, and several incoming flights were diverted or cancelled. Airport authorities advised passengers to contact their respective airlines before travelling to the airport.

The latest incident comes just two days after earlier Houthi-claimed attacks on the same airport on Thursday killed three Saudi nationals, including a Saudia airline pilot, and damaged an aircraft.
Several airlines, including Air India, Air India Express, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways, have suspended or cancelled services to Riyadh amid the deteriorating security situation.
However, Saudi authorities have not yet officially confirmed Saturday’s reported missile strike or released a verified casualty figure. The Houthis have also not issued an immediate statement claiming responsibility for the latest incident.
The situation remains tense, with further updates awaited.
