Election Commission of India holds 1st meeting post joining of CEC Gyanesh Kumar
by Sudeshna Panda · KalingaTVNew Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday began a two-day conference of CEOs of all States and Union Territories (UTs). The conference is underway at IIIDEM (India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management) in New Delhi.
According to reliable reports, this is the first such conference to be held since Gyanesh Kumar assumed charge as CEC. CEC and ECs Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi interacted with CEOs on a series of topics.
These topics will pave the way for improvements in election management in the country within the established legal framework. Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar took charge as the new Chief Election Commissioner of India on February 19, 2025. Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has been appointed as the new Chief Election Commissioner of India.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar told, “The first step towards national service is voting. All citizens of India who have completed 18 years of age should become electors and should always vote.”
Gyanesh Kumar further said, “The Election Commission of India will always stand with the voters. I had come to Madurai and reviewed the electoral process work here.”
He also said, “The Chief Electoral Officer was also there, and the District Election Officers and senior police officers were also there. They are doing good work, and I wish all the electors of Madurai all the best…”
