13-year-old girl alleges sexual harassment by classmates in Kerala, probe underway

Thiruvananthapuram: A 13-year-old girl has alleged that she has been sexually harassed multiple times in different places by several classmates in Kerala in the month of May. The sexual assault reportedly took place seven months.

The Local Kerala police have started investigating the matter and a suo motu intervention by the State Child Rights Commission has also launched.

The accused persons are identified as 10 people that includes one girl, 6 minor persons.

The incident came to light when the victim girl disclosed the harassment during counselling session conducted by the school.

Following the confession, police and child authorities were informed about the matter. A detailed probe has been launched based on the girl’s allegations.

Investigators are recording statements, collecting evidence and examining the circumstances under which the alleged incidents occurred.

The investigation is taking place keeping in my all the possible angles.

Further investigation into this matter is underway.
