MP Congress Chief Jitu Patwari’s brother detained in drug seizure case

New Delhi: Nana Patwari was arrested following the seizure of suspected brown sugar from two people and let off after preliminary inquiries, police said, as they are conducting the investigation into the case.
Earlier, two persons were arrested with around 10.8 grams of suspected brown sugar.
As per the police, during preliminary inquiry, both arrested accused revealed that they were taking the contraband for Nana Patwari and Manav Gangwani.
Accordingly, both were arrested for questioning.
Following preliminary evidence and leads obtained, Nana Patwari and Manav Gangwani were released on the same night, Deputy Commissioner of Police Narendra Rawat said.

However, sources said that the investigation is still underway, where the call records, financial transaction and technical evidence are being scrutinised.
Police can summon them again if need arises. FIR has been lodged under NDPS Act against both the accused who have been apprehended in connection with the case.
Sources said Nana Patwari was also a named accused in an earlier NDPS case.
Police are checking for linkages in this case.
Responding to the incident, Jitu Patwari alleged his brother has been falsely implicated and also accused the ruling BJP government of enacting political revenge to threaten his family.
