Actor James Handy stabbed to death in Los Angeles, girlfriend’s son arrested

New Delhi: ‘Top Gun’ actor James Handy was reportedly stabbed to death in Los Angeles residence at the age of 81, according to reports.

James Handy was living with his girlfriend and the son of his girlfriend in a house of Los Angeles.

The crime came to light when the accused itself made a call at 911 and informed about it. When the police rushed to the spot and arrived at the location they found Handy in the front yard lying unconsciously.

The actor was stabbed on the chest; he was immediately taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The prime suspect and Handy’s girlfriend son is identified as 44-year-old Michael Gledhill. He openly admitted his crime and said the police officials that he is the one they are looking for when they arrived at the scene.

Following the incident, Gledhill was arrested and was booked under suspicion of one count of murder, with jail records showing his bail set at $2 million.

Handy was originally from New York and has worked in film and TV for decades. He played an exterminator in Jumanji (1995) and Jimmy the bartender in Top Gun: Maverick (2022). He was also featured crime shows like NCIS: Los Angeles, The Closer, and Cold Case.
