Drivers’ strike in Odisha: Private buses to run from tomorrow

Puri: Despite the strike of the Odisha Drivers’ Mahasangha, private buses will run in all routes of the State from tomorrow, announced the All Odisha Bus Owners’ Association today.
Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association president, Loknath Pani informed that a meeting of the Association was held in Puri today to take a concrete decision regarding resuming the bus services.
As they have already incurred huge loss due to the ongoing strike of the Odisha Drivers’ Mahasangha and general public have been badly affected for not getting any bus to travel, the bus owners’ association decided to resume the bus services in all the routes as per their schedule, said Pani.
However, we urge the state government to provide security as the protest of the drivers is still underway, he added.
It is to be noted here that the cease work agitation of the Odisha Drivers’ Mahasangha has entered its fourth day today. They are on an indefinite strike to press for the fulfillment of their seven-point charter of demands.
