Bhubaneswar: Congress workers, along with students and candidates, blocked the National Highway in front of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, protesting the delay in the declaration of student union election results.

According to reports, the protesters expressed strong resentment over the delay in vote counting following the completion of student union elections at the university.

The students alleged that despite government instructions to declare the election results by 5 PM, the university authorities had failed to announce the results even seven hours after the polling process concluded.

The protesters also alleged a lack of transparency in the counting process, claiming that no information was being provided regarding the number of counting rounds completed or which candidates were leading.
