Toddler abuse in day care case: Police arrests two care takers in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The arrest of two care takers have been made following videos of inhumanly act against two to five years toddlers in Bengaluru day care went viral.
The day care was shut down after the videos of the incident went viral on the internet and complaint was registered against the day care and the people who were working in it.
The two arrested staff members have been identified as Vijayalakshmi and Manjula.They worked as nannies in the day care.
According to the reports, five nannies of the alleged day care have been booked for physical abuse and psychological intimidation of toddlers.
In the viral videos, the nannies were seen abusing the children in several ways such as making them sit in the drum of a front-loading washing machine, water sprayed into their mouths with a toilet jet spray, and locked in washroom.

The five nannies have been identified as Manjula, Vijayalakshmi, Bhavani, Sindhu, and Bindu. A case has been registered under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and Section 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal intimidation.
The company under which the day care was opened has also stated that the daycare’s main concern is keeping families and staff safe and healthy. So the daycare has been temporarily closed.
At least 50-60 toddlers were enrolled at the day care and 20 to 30 of them used to come there regularly.
Following the incident, parents are very angry about what happened. They trusted the daycare to watch their kids while they worked at the IT Company. People are now very worried about how safe daycares are and how well they are watched, especially the ones inside company offices.
Further investigation into this matter is underway.
