2 Killed, several injured as seven-story under-construction building collapses in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An under-construction building collapsed in Anjaiah Nagar of Hyderabad’s Madhapur, leading to the death of two people and several others injured on Saturday. Rescue efforts are ongoing at the crash site to locate more people trapped underneath the debris of the collapsed building. The local police and rescue personnel are at the site.

Sources stated that the seven-storey building was under construction.

The building allegedly did not have proper clearances and had been under scrutiny before the collapse. Moreover, the building was under scrutiny as it was being built illegally and construction was pausedby officials for four months. But, it got resumed again withoit permission, as per allegation.

The building reportedly collapsed after the cellar work was extended to the adjacent building connected to the seven-storey structure.

Rescue operations remain underway.
