Lufthansa Boeing 787 nose gear collapses at Frankfurt Airport, Several feared injured

New Delhi: Several ground staff were feared injured on Thursday when the nose landing gear of a Lufthansa Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner reportedly collapsed while parked at Frankfurt Airport.

The incident occurred at 12:45 p.m. as the aircraft, scheduled to operate flight LH450 to Los Angeles, was at the gate. Lufthansa confirmed passengers had not yet boarded. Only crew members and ground staff were on board when the nose gear folded unexpectedly, causing the front section to rest on the tarmac.

Emergency vehicles rushed to the scene. The airline said the injured staff are receiving medical treatment. The flight to Los Angeles was cancelled.

Lufthansa added it is investigating the exact circumstances with authorities. Boeing said it is aware of the incident and supporting its customer.
