TPRB recruitment 2026 for 6,424 police department posts

Telangana Government has approved the large-scale recruitment for around 6,424 positions in the police department. The Government has issued two separate orders sanctioning the recruitment into the police department, under the administrative control of the Director General of Police (DGP). The Telangana State Police Recruitment Board (TPRB) will conduct the recruitment drive to fill in the vacancies approved.

The Finance Department issued the first order, G.O.Ms.No.78 on June 27, 2026, which sanctioned 5,000 vacancies in ten categories. The order followed a review by the Home Department of different proposals in light of departmental needs, staffing requirements, and financial implications.

Out of the 5,000 vacancies, 148 Sub-Inspector of Police (Civil) posts, 14 Sub-Inspector of Police (AR), 12 Reserve Sub-Inspector of Police (TGSP), 3 Sub-Inspector of Police (SAR CPL), 23 Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (FPB), 24 Police Constable (SAR CPL), 20 Police Constable (Driver) PTO, 7 Police Constable (Mechanic) PTO posts, 3,697 are for Police Constable (Civil) posts, 1,052 Police Constable (AR) posts.

A second order, G.O.Ms.No.84, issued by the Finance Department, dated July 3, 2026, sanctioning a further 1,424 posts. This allocation has 44 posts of Sub-Inspector and 1,380 posts of Constables.
