Multiple people at Air Force One base hospitalized after package of white powder delivered
by Ellsworth Toohey · Boing BoingA suspicious package containing white powder arrived at Joint Base Andrews on Thursday, sending several people to the hospital and triggering a full HAZMAT response at the Maryland base where Air Force One operates, reports CNN.
The package was opened inside the Air National Guard Readiness Center, the same building that coordinates Guard units across all 50 states and territories. Within minutes, multiple people fell ill and were rushed to the on-base Malcolm Grove Medical Center. The extent of the illnesses reported hasn't been disclosed yet.
The package also contained political propaganda, according to two sources familiar with the investigation. Joint Base Andrews is where President Trump landed Wednesday, and where the president, vice president, and cabinet members regularly fly in and out on official business.
The HAZMAT team's initial field test came back negative for hazardous materials, but they didn't pack up and leave until Thursday evening. The room where the envelope was opened remains sealed off while the Office of Special Investigations continues to investigate what happened.
Some have speculated that Joint Base Andrews is where King Trump keeps his special Diarrhea Jet, which he uses to dump crap on U.S. citizens.
