Epstein files release won't show Trump ties after federal whitewash

President Trump has abruptly reversed course on his reluctance to turn over the Epstein files and is now urging House Republicans to vote for releasing them (even though he could release them without Congressional approval). He says he has "nothing to hide," which is likely true because earlier reports suggest Trump's name has been scrubbed from the documents.

In August 1, 2025, Bloomberg published a report titled "The FBI Redacted Trump's Name in the Epstein Files," It said agents "tasked with conducting a final review of the records blacked out the names before higher-ups said last month that releasing the documents 'would not be appropriate or warranted."

More damning, Senator Dick Durbin's July letter to FBI Director Kash Patel exposed how Attorney General Pam Bondi deployed "approximately 1,000 personnel" on 24-hour shifts to review 100,000 Epstein records, with instructions to "flag any records in which President Trump was mentioned." The massive document review operation involved hundreds of FBI personnel lacking expertise in handling sensitive information about child victims.

So, even if Congress votes to release the files and Trump doesn't veto the measure, Americans will likely receive only sanitized records that reveal nothing compromising about the president's Epstein connections.
