PM Modi launches Rs 4,500 crore development projects in Kokrajhar
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirNew Delhi, Mar 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone for several development projects worth over Rs 4,500 crore in Kokrajhar through video conferencing. Unable to attend the event in person due to inclement weather, the Prime Minister addressed the gathering virtually from Guwahati and expressed regret for not being able to travel to Kokrajhar.
The projects include six key road initiatives in the Bodoland Territorial Region aimed at strengthening connectivity, with more than ₹1,100 crore allocated for improving the road network under the Asom Mala campaign.
Modi also highlighted efforts to enhance rail connectivity and logistics infrastructure in the region, saying the initiatives would boost trade, tourism and access to markets for farmers. The Prime Minister said the region, once affected by violence, is now moving on a path of peace and development following the Bodo Peace Accord, and reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling all promises made under the agreement.
