UAE President to visit India today
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirNew Delhi, Jan 18: At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will pay an official visit to India on January 19, 2026.
This will be his third official visit to India since assuming office as President of the United Arab Emirates and his fifth visit over the past decade.
The visit follows a series of high-level exchanges between the two countries, including the visit of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in September 2024 and that of Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in April 2025.
India and the UAE share close and multi-dimensional ties rooted in strong political, cultural, and economic engagement.
The two nations are among each other’s leading trading and investment partners, supported by initiatives such as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Local Currency Settlement mechanism, and the Bilateral Investment Treaty.
The partnership also includes a strong energy dimension, with long-term supply arrangements in place.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for the two leaders to further advance the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, where both countries share a high degree of convergence.
