PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate India AI Impact Summit 2026 today in New Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit and inaugurate the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam on February 19. Ahead of the formal inauguration, the Prime Minister will welcome leaders from participating countries at the venue on the evening of February 18. The PM held several bilateral meetings with several world leaders attending the summit.

On February 19, the Prime Minister will take part in the Opening Ceremony at around 9:40 AM. The ceremony will also be addressed by the President of France and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, along with leading global industry figures. Following the inaugural session, the Prime Minister and other leaders will visit the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at around 11 AM, where country pavilions will showcase technological innovations and AI-driven solutions.

At around 12 noon, the Prime Minister will participate in the Leaders’ Plenary, which will bring together Heads of State, ministers and senior representatives from multilateral institutions. The plenary will focus on national and global priorities in artificial intelligence, including governance frameworks, infrastructure development and international cooperation.

Later in the day, from 5:30 PM onwards, the Prime Minister will attend a CEO Roundtable involving senior executives from global technology and industry firms. Discussions will centre on investment, research partnerships, supply chains and the deployment of AI systems. The theme of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 is “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya” — welfare for all, happiness of all. The summit seeks to position India as a global leader in artificial intelligence while promoting inclusive growth, sustainable development and responsible innovation.

The summit is structured around seven Working Groups aligned with three core pillars — People, Planet and Progress. The focus areas include AI for Economic Growth and Social Good; Democratizing AI Resources; Inclusion for Social Empowerment; Safe and Trusted AI; Human Capital; Science; and Resilience, Innovation and Efficiency.

More than 500 global AI leaders are participating, including CEOs and CXOs, over 100 founders, around 150 academicians and researchers, and 400 CTOs, vice presidents and philanthropists. The summit will also see participation from over 100 government representatives, including more than 20 Heads of State and Government and around 60 ministers and vice ministers.
