New Delhi, Nov 4: At least six people were killed when a Korba passenger train collided with a stationary freight train near Lal Khadan in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, NDTV reported.

The impact crushed the engine and front coaches of the passenger train, leaving several passengers trapped.

Rescue teams from the Railways, local administration, and NDRF rushed to the site, with medical staff treating the injured amid the wreckage, NDTV reported. The collision severely damaged overhead power lines and signalling systems, disrupting traffic on the Bilaspur–Katni route. Several trains have been cancelled or diverted as restoration work continues. Railway officials have launched an investigation, with preliminary reports suggesting a possible signalling failure or human error.
