New Delhi, Nov 13: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday announced that the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 were conducted smoothly with a record voter turnout of 67.13 percent, the highest since 1951.

In a first for the state, the elections saw zero re-polls, with no requests for repolling from any of the 2,616 candidates or 12 recognised political parties. The Commission also reported zero appeals during scrutiny of election results across all 38 districts, covering 7.45 crore electors on the final electoral roll.

Counting of votes will be held on November 14 across all 243 Assembly constituencies, with 243 Returning Officers and 243 Counting Observers supervising the process. Over 4,300 counting tables have been set up, each manned by trained staff, and more than 18,000 counting agents will oversee the exercise. Counting will begin at 8:00 a.m., starting with postal ballots, followed by Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) counting at 8:30 a.m. VVPAT slips from five randomly selected polling stations in each constituency will be verified after the EVM count. The ECI has advised the public and media to rely solely on the official results portal -results.eci.gov.in – for verified constituency-wise updates.
