Trump says Iran has ‘10 to 15 days’ to reach deal with US
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirNew Delhi, Feb 20: US President Donald Trump has suggested that Iran has about “10 to 15 days” to reach a deal with Washington or risk further military action, Al Jazeera reported. Speaking at the inaugural Board of Peace meeting in Washington, DC, Trump said the United States and Iran must strike a “meaningful deal”, warning that “bad things happen” if diplomacy fails. He indicated that developments would become clear “over the next probably 10 days”.
According to Al Jazeera, Trump reiterated his claim that joint Israeli-US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities in June last year helped pave the way for a ceasefire in Gaza, arguing that the “threat” posed by Tehran had previously deterred regional peace efforts.
His remarks came days after the US and Iran held a second round of indirect talks. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said negotiations in Geneva had made “good progress” and that both sides had reached a broad agreement on guiding principles for a potential accord.
