Security forces exchange fire with terrorists in J&K's Kathua
by GK Web Desk · Greater KashmirKathua, Jan 07: An encounter broke out between terrorists and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kamadh Nullah area of Kathua district on Wednesday.
A top police officer told news agency Kashmir News Corner—(KNC) that the security forces launched a Cordon And Search Operation (CASO) in the area following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists.
Firing was exchanged after the terrorists opened fire on the security personnel, he said.
“SOG Kathua has engaged terrorists in the forest of Kamadh Nullah, Kathua,” Inspector General of Police Jammu said in a post on X.
The IGP further added: “Despite darkness, thick vegetation and treacherous terrain, SOG relentlessly engaging the terrorists. Teams of CRPF are also participating in the Joint Op.”
