The Alters Xbox Game Pass release delayed again

11 Bit Studios' new sci-fi survival game, The Alters, has been delayed for a second time and will launch in Xbox Game Pass later this year.

Upcoming Xbox Game Pass game The Alters has been delayed for a second time, which means you won't be unlocking The Alters achievements until later this year. We're also going to have to shuffle around our list of new games coming to Game Pass.

The Alters delayed to "later in the year"

  • The Alters was originally due out in 2024, but a delay saw the game pushed back to Q1 2025
  • Now, a second delay means we won't see the game until sometime later this year
  • When it does launch, it will join Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on day one

When The Alters was unveiled, it was originally down to launch into Game Pass in 2024. However, 11 Bit Studios needed more time to get the game up to its standards, and delayed it to Q1 2025. Now, the sci-fi survival game has been pushed back again, with 11 Bit saying in a post on X that we can expect it sometime "later in the year."

The Alters is one of the most interesting games coming to Game Pass in 2025. After Jan Dolski crash-lands on a barren and distant planet, his only hope of survival is to create alternate versions of himself to work on his mobile base. While many hands do indeed make for light work, each of Jan's alters has a different personality and background, and to return home, Jan must find a way to get along with these alternate versions of himself and face some crucial choices about his past that could put someone's life at risk.
