It looks like we'll have to wait a little longer before we can jump into The Alters achievements. 11 Bit Studios has confirmed The Alters has been delayed and that the upcoming Game Pass game will now launch in 2025.

The Alters delayed to Q1 2025

The Alters was supposed to launch for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and join Xbox Game Pass on day one sometime in Q4 2024, but 11 Bit Studios says it needs more time to improve the quality of the game.

"The production schedule for The Alters was very tight, said 11 Bit Studios president Przemysław Marszał in a press release (thanks, Bankier). "There was uncertainty as to whether the developers would have enough time to complete all the work in the quality we all expect. After so many years of production, the risk that the game will have any shortcomings is unnecessary for us."

Inspired by the excellent survival management game This War of Mine, The Alters has you play as a "simple worker" named Jan Dolski who crash-lands on a desolate planet, stranded and alone. To survive, Jan creates alternate versions of himself who possess the skills to help run his base, craft tools, and mine resources. However, each alternate version of Jan has their own personality, and Jan is soon presented with tough decisions that he'll need to make if he has any hope of finding a way home.

In other Game Pass news, Microsoft recently announced the next batch of games coming to Game Pass in October 2024, and which titles will soon leave the service.
