Hyundai Sales Breakup May 2026 – Creta, Venue, Exter, Aura, i20, i10, Alcazar, Verna

The company added 3,976 units year-on-year, led by strong performances from Venue, Exter and i20. However, compared to April 2026, sales declined by 7.83% from 51,902 units.

Creta and Creta EV remained Hyundai’s best-selling products with combined sales of 15,235 units in May 2026. Despite being Hyundai’s volume leader, sales growth was relatively modest at 2.52% YoY compared to 14,860 units sold a year ago. Creta accounted for nearly 32% of Hyundai’s total sales during the month. The midsize SUV continues to anchor Hyundai’s portfolio, maintaining its position among India’s best-selling SUVs.
Venue recorded one of the strongest performances in Hyundai’s lineup, with sales rising to 11,714 units from 7,520 units in May 2025. The SUV gained 4,194 units year-on-year and posted an impressive 55.77% growth, making it Hyundai’s fastest-growing high-volume model. Venue contributed nearly a quarter of Hyundai’s total sales and further strengthened the company’s presence in the sub-4 metre SUV segment.
Exter continued its steady growth trajectory with sales of 6,595 units, up 11.80% from 5,899 units sold in May 2025. The micro SUV contributed 13.79% of Hyundai’s overall volumes and remained one of the brand’s key growth drivers. Aura sedan posted sales of 5,077 units, marginally down 2.83% from last year. Meanwhile, i20 hatchback registered 4,749 units, recording a healthy 16.11% growth over 4,090 units sold in May 2025.
Grand i10 NIOS witnessed the sharpest decline among Hyundai’s mainstream models. Sales fell to 2,920 units, down 32.78% YoY from 4,344 units sold last year. Verna also reported weaker demand with sales declining 22.26% to 723 units. Alcazar registered 814 units, down 11.71% YoY. At the premium end, IONIQ 5 contributed 10 units, while Tucson recorded no sales during the month.
Month-On-Month Performance
Compared to April 2026, most Hyundai models witnessed a decline. Creta remained largely stable with a marginal 0.37% drop, while Venue fell 5.68%. Exter declined by 18.54%, i20 by 15.56%, and Grand i10 NIOS by 29.62%. Aura was among the few gainers, posting a 10.68% increase over April.
A key highlight of Hyundai’s May 2026 sales performance was the dominance of its SUV lineup. Creta, Venue, Exter and Alcazar together contributed 34,358 units, accounting for nearly 72% of Hyundai’s total domestic sales. With the company preparing to launch its new mass-market electric SUV later this year, Hyundai’s SUV-led strategy is expected to strengthen further in the coming months.
