Kia India Sales August 2026 at 29k – Grows 48% YoY, Best-Ever August

Sales increased by 48.1% YoY, supported by continued demand for Seltos and Sonet along with contributions from newer models including Syros EV and Carens Clavis range.
Compared to 19,608 units sold in August 2025, Kia’s volumes increased by 9,434 units or 48.11% YoY. Sales also improved over July 2026, when the company dispatched 28,200 units. This represents a marginal 2.99% MoM growth.
Best-Ever August Sales For Kia India
At 29,042 units, August 2026 was Kia India’s highest-ever wholesale performance for the month of August since commencing operations in the country. Seltos continues to be one of the company’s biggest volume contributors. Kia says the latest Seltos has consistently averaged more than 10,000 units per month since its launch in January 2026. Sonet remains another key volume driver in the sub-4m SUV segment.
Carens Clavis and Carens Clavis EV are also contributing to the company’s volumes, expanding Kia’s presence in the family vehicle segment across ICE and electric powertrains. The recently launched Syros EV has further expanded Kia’s electric portfolio. While the company hasn’t disclosed model-wise August volumes, it says the electric SUV has received an encouraging response from buyers.
2026 YTD Sales Cross 2.20 Lakh Units
Between January and August 2026, Kia India recorded wholesales of 2,20,991 units, compared to 1,83,882 units during the corresponding period of 2025. This represents an increase of 37,109 units or around 20.2% YoY. Kia’s nationwide presence has also expanded to 910 touchpoints across 418 cities, supplemented by 137 Certified Pre-Owned outlets.
Kia Sorento Launch On September 4
Kia’s next major launch is just days away. Sorento will launch in India on September 4, marking the company’s entry into a new premium three-row SUV segment. Importantly, Kia has now officially confirmed that Sorento will be offered with diesel and hybrid powertrains, making it Kia’s first hybrid SUV in India. The strong August performance gives Kia positive momentum heading into the Sorento launch.
