Maruti Sales Aug 2026 At 1.77 Lakh – Domestic PV Grows 35% YoY

Maruti Suzuki has announced its sales performance for August 2026, registering strong growth in the domestic passenger vehicle market. The company sold a total of 2,19,220 units during the month, including domestic sales, exports and supplies to Toyota.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 1,76,971 units, compared to 1,31,278 units in August 2025. This represents an increase of 45,693 units or 34.81% YoY. However, compared to July 2026 sales of 1,96,203 units, domestic PV volumes declined by 9.80% MoM.

Passenger Car Sales At 85,965 Units

Maruti’s Mini segment, comprising Alto and S-Presso, recorded sales of 8,799 units in August 2026. This was higher than the 6,853 units sold during the same month last year. Compact cars comprising Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR contributed 77,166 units, compared to 59,597 units a year ago. New Baleno is all set to for a launch on 5th Sep.

Utility vehicles recorded an even stronger performance. Maruti sold 79,045 UVs during August, compared to 54,043 units last year. This portfolio currently comprises Brezza, Ertiga, eVitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6. Eeco contributed another 11,961 units, up from 10,785 units last year. This took total domestic passenger vehicle sales to 1,76,971 units.

Exports Decline, Sales To Toyota Nearly Halve

Maruti’s export performance declined during August. The company shipped 33,844 vehicles, compared to 36,538 units in August 2025, resulting in a 7.37% YoY decline. Supplies to Toyota also witnessed a sharp decline. Maruti supplied 5,298 vehicles to the other OEM during August, compared to 10,095 units a year earlier. This represents a decline of 47.52%.

Light commercial vehicle sales, comprising Super Carry, increased 12.09% YoY to 3,107 units. Including passenger vehicles and LCVs, Maruti’s domestic sales stood at 1,80,078 units. After adding OEM supplies, domestic volumes reached 1,85,376 units.

Total Sales Cross 2.19 Lakh Units

Including exports, Maruti Suzuki registered total sales of 2,19,220 units in August 2026, compared to 1,80,683 units in August 2025. That’s an increase of 38,537 units or 21.33% YoY. Maruti has also achieved a significant milestone in FY2026-27. The company surpassed one million cumulative sales within the first five months of the financial year.

Between April and August 2026, total sales stood at 11,43,365 units, compared to 8,89,070 units during the corresponding period last year, representing growth of 28.60%. Domestic PV sales during these five months increased 35.58% to 8,98,402 units, while exports rose 14.15% to 1,88,636 units.
