John Wilson‘s next trick? Showing his dedicated audiences “how to” tour like Harry Styles. The “History of Concrete” filmmaker and “How to with John Wilson” creator is allegedly already hard at work on his next project: a concert documentary about Styles and his current “Together, Together” tour for Universal Pictures Content Group.

The news was first reported by Variety, but eagle-eyed social media denizens had already been sent into gossip overload after videos of Wilson following and filming Styles started to make the rounds over the weekend. IndieWire has reached out to Universal for comment.

According to Variety, Wilson has been filming Styles since August. The pop star is the midst of his latest residency at Madison Square Garden, which is poised to run through October and is the largest single-engagement residency ever at the iconic venue. Per the outlet, “Wilson is capturing footage for a doc expected to be a hybrid of live performances and a glimpse into Styles’ world. One source described it as featuring authentic human stories of everyone involved in the tour —from the singer and his fans to countless others behind the scenes.”

Variety adds that “Universal Pictures Content Group, Peanut World Pictures, and Styles produced the project. UPCG will own global rights to the film.” Distribution plans are not yet set, but “insiders said the doc may be positioned for a theatrical release via Universal.”

As Variety reminds us, while Wilson might seem like an odd choice for such a gig, he did get his start directing music videos. And concert docs are big business these days, even from lauded filmmakers, The outlet’s Matt Donnelly notes that “Billie Eilish recruited ‘Titanic’ and ‘Avatar’ mastermind James Cameron to direct her own theatrical concert opus ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour,’ which was released in theaters this summer.”

And, remember a little film called “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour”?

Wilson is on a hot streak as of late, as IndieWire reported earlier this week that his first feature-length documentary, “The History of Concrete,” recently passed $2 million at the box office. We’re guessing this next one will make a smidge more.
