The news is finally official now. Team India has officially announced its squad for the upcoming Asia Cup tournament and here is a look into the same.

The captain of the side is obviously Surya Kumar Yadav and he is returning to the national team after an injury break. On contrary to the recent speculation about the omission of Shubman Gill, from the final side, he has found a place in the squad.

In fact, Gill is the new vice captain of the Indian T20 team, and this could be an indication of the potential candidacy for the upcoming captaincy post.

The most shocking decision came in the form of the exclusion of star player, Shreyas Iyer from the final squad. He is nowhere to be seen in the squad for the Asia Cup tournament.

Iyer has been one of the most consistent performance for India in the limited overs format over the years. But somehow, strangely enough, he did not find a place in the T20 squad for the Asia Cup tournament.

Also, gun pacer Mohammed Siraj, who was absolutely brilliant with the ball in the recent England test series has also been excluded from the side for the Asia tournament. Jaspreet Bumrah is obviously going to lead the bowling attack anyway.

Surya Kumar Yadav (C), Shubman Gill (VC), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson (WK), Harshit Rana, Rinku Singh.
