Rain & Power Glitch Leave 500 Passengers Stuck on Mumbai Monorail

Amidst the torrential rain in the city, the Mumbai monorail train came to a halt between two stations leaving over 500 passengers trapped. For over two hours, the train was stuck on the elevated track, as there was a minor power supply issue.

The train came to a halt at 6.15 pm due to the technical snag when it was running between Mysore Colony and Bhakti Park stations. Fire brigade and rescue officials began rescue operations using cranes and started evacuating the passengers.

On information, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis got it contact with the officials concerned and ordered an inquiry into the incident. He urged the passengers not to panic and assured that all of them would be evacuated safely. He said that he was in touch with the MMRDA commissioner, the municipal commissioner, the police, and all relevant agencies.

Taking to X, Fadnavis urged all the passengers to remain patient and not get panic. An inquiry has been ordered, he said.
