Celebrity Big Brother's Daley Thompson says co-stars are 'rats' in eviction jibe

Celebrity Big Brother's Daley Thompson has been evicted as the third housemate after a tense public vote. He described his time in the house as "a blast".

Upon leaving, he told hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best that his experience was 'fantastic' and suggested they should try living there.

In his exit interview, Thompson said: "I would have liked to have stayed longer but I was quite happy to come out. The problem with it is, no matter what goes on in there, it's you lot out here," gesturing towards the audience.

He expressed little optimism for his former housemates, saying, "They have been funny, revealing, great people." Confronted with the reasons behind his nominations, he said: "None of them surprised me because they're all rats."

He firmly denied allegations of not doing chores, saying: "I promise you on my child's life," and shared that he regularly did the washing up and made tea for others, reports the Mirror.

Thompson felt he was perceived as a threat by the other contestants. Reflecting on his interactions, he said: "I was chatting to everybody, offering people advice if they wanted it and I was generally trying to be friendly with everyone."

However, he said that "Jealously always rears its ugly head". Reflecting on the other contestants' tactics, Daley expressed that winning was not his aim. "It's not something I had any control over," he said.

"In there, all you can do, I think is, all I could do is just try and be the person that I am, whereas all the people in there – they're all performative artists, there are some people who are professional reality stars, if you do that all the time, you know how to play the game. And it is a game."

He said that although he was "happy" to exit the show, he felt he had "no real control" over it. In a lighter moment, he teased the host Will Best, saying he wasn't "famous enough" for the host to join the programme.

Asked about his drive to win, Daley responded: "No, it's absolutely out of my control, I'd have been happy to come out first or last, on that boy's head," gesturing towards his son.

EastEnders star Patsy Palmer was also up for eviction again, alongside Olympian Daley Thompson, who had just managed to evade it previously.

During the house's third round of nominations, four housemates voted to nominate Daley, with Patsy being one of them.

Presenter Angellica Bell, Love Island finalist Chris Hughes, and comedian Donna Preston nominated him, but it was Patsy who received five nominations, including votes from Angellica and Chris. Other nominations for the soap star came from RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard, former Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa, and The Only Way is Essex's Ella Rae Wise.

It comes after presenter Trisha Goddard left the show on Tuesday (April 15). She had been up against Patsy and Coronation Street actor Jack P.

Patsy led with six nominations, while Jack and Trisha were each named by four housemates, with Trisha ultimately losing out in the public vote.

Before Trisha's departure, former Conservative MP Sir Michael Fabricant was ousted by viewer votes soon after his arrival and has since voiced a wish to return. Over the weekend, Mickey Rourke was then asked to leave the house due to "unacceptable behaviour", for which he has issued an apology.
