I'm A Celeb's Oti Mabuse 'has upper hand' as Strictly Come Dancing star speaks out

Former I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! contestant Vincent Simone has suggested that Oti Mabuse might have an advantage as she gears up for her stint in the Australian jungle.

The line-up for the 2024 series was unveiled earlier this week, with names such as Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, Alan Halsall, and GK Barry set to join dancer Oti in the wilderness.

Vincent, who graced the Strictly Come Dancing stage as a professional dancer for six seasons, has offered his insights on the new group of celebrities vying for the title of King or Queen of the Jungle.

Speaking with 10bet, Vincent remarked: "I think everybody could win. I mean it's part about popularity and secondly it's entertaining. It's not just about the tasks. You need to catch people's hearts, be likeable and do well so it is very hard.", reports OK!.

He continued, highlighting Oti's potential edge: "I know Oti is quite popular, especially coming from a big show like Strictly so maybe she does have the upper hand so we just have to wait and see."

Reflecting on his own time in the jungle, Vincent shared: "The way I approached it, being a performer, I thought of the show to be about performing. You know there are millions of people watching you so you don't want make a fool of yourself."

He concluded by drawing on his performance background: "For me, it was thinking how you act when you go on stage ready to perform and there's an audience watching you and it's live, so in a way I was blessed because I come from that background of performing. It's not easy. I'm not saying it's easy at all."

"The one thing I will say to them is to keep yourself busy because the days are long and make sure you know you do some exercises, don't lie around and sit around just keep moving, keep yourself entertained."

Vincent joined the fray as a newcomer on Day 17 during series thirteen and ended up in tenth, but hes keen to dive back in should an offer arrive for the All-Stars edition of ITV's rigorous reality show.

He detailed: "The year I did I'm A Celebrity was perfect for me because I just left Strictly, I had tours booked and I had that time where I thought 'I'm gonna take this up for the challenge' because I'd never done anything on my own ever."

"It's always been me and my dance partners, me and my dance teachers and this for me was a special moment to go to an environment, which I will never go to or never pay to go to, and it was one of the best things I've ever done in my life. I was really happy and content with myself that I had that experience which I'll cherish forever and yet again. I needed a long break but now again I find myself in this time of my life where yes, bring it on."

"I'm more mature and more wise and if anything I will enjoy it even more. I feel like either Strictly or I'm A Celebrity I will approach it in a different way. I have nothing to lose or nothing to prove any more so I would do it for myself."

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on Sunday, November 17
