Boy, 14, arrested on suspicion of murder after 12-year-old stabbed to death in street

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a 12-year-old boy in Birmingham. The incident, which took place near Scribers Lane in the Hall Green area on Tuesday afternoon, resulted in the young boy being rushed to hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.

West Midlands Police have confirmed that a 14-year-old boy is currently in custody under suspicion of murder. The attack occurred around 3.15pm, shortly after local schools had finished for the day.

Scribers Lane, where the incident took place, connects Hall Green to Trittiford Mill Park, a large recreational area near Yardley Wood. Images from the scene show a significant police presence and a cordon in place, believed to be near the Trittiford Mill Park area of Scribers Lane, reports the Mirror.

Despite the arrest, investigations into the stabbing continue. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: "His (the victim's) family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."
