Premier League forced to release two statements after VAR incidents during Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham
by James Pallatt · NottinghamshireLiveNottingham Forest’s Premier League clash with Tottenham suffered a loss of VAR at the start of the second half.
The Reds were leading Spurs 2-0 in a huge match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when it was confirmed a fire alarm had gone off at Stockley Park, the headquarters of video assistant referees.
“The match will be operating without VAR until further notice due to a fire alarm at the VAR Hub at Stockley Park,” the Premier League Match Centre stated on social media platform X.
The outage did not last long, however, with VAR quickly “back up and running” just minutes later.
VAR was involved during the first half of the match as it overturned the referee’s onfield decision and disallowed a goal from Chris Wood.
“VAR checked the referee’s call of goal – and established that Wood was in an offside position and recommended that the goal was disallowed,” the Premier League Match Centre stated on social media platform X.
Wood still got his name on the scoresheet in the first half, doubling Forest’s lead after an early goal from Elliot Anderson.
