US President Donald Trump has warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel could be left isolated if it resumes attacks on Iran, as tensions in the Middle East remain high despite a pause in fighting.

Speaking to Axios on Monday, Trump said he personally warned Netanyahu against escalating the conflict further.

“I said, ‘Bibi, you better be careful, or you will be on your own very soon’,” Trump said.

The warning came after Israel and Iran signalled they would temporarily halt attacks following their most serious military escalation since an April ceasefire.

According to reports, Trump also called Netanyahu and urged him to stop Israeli strikes.

Earlier, the US president posted on Truth Social demanding both sides stop “shooting” and said “final negotiations” towards peace would continue “subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way”.

The latest violence began after Israeli strikes hit Beirut on Sunday and Iran later launched missiles towards northern Israel, while Israeli forces targeted Iranian air defence systems and a petrochemical facility.

No deaths were reported from the latest exchanges.

Netanyahu defended Israel’s actions in a televised address, saying: “Israel has a full right to self-defence, and we are exercising it as required”.

Meanwhile, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran remained “at the negotiating table”, while Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for restraint and ongoing diplomatic efforts to avoid further escalation.
