Trump issues statement as UAE reports missile and drone strikes
by By The News Digital · The News InternationalIn the wake of alleged Iranian strikes on the UAE, President Donald Trump threatens that Iran would face a strong military response if its naval forces were attacked who are involved in escorting commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
In an interview with Fox News, he says the Islamic Republic would be "blown off the face of the earth if it attacks US ships."

Separately, President Trump says Iran had shot a few vessels during the efforts by the U.S. to guide them through the Strait of Hormuz.
"Iran has taken some shots at unrelated nations with respect to the ship movement, PROJECT FREEDOM, including a South Korean cargo ship," he writes on Truth Social.
In a suggestion to the South Korean president, Trump pens, "Perhaps it’s time for South Korea to come and join the mission!"
He adds the U.S. forces had destroyed seven Iranian boats, which he says are known as 'fast boats'.
"We’ve shot down seven small boats or, as they like to call them, 'fast' boats. It’s all they have left."
Aside from this, Trump notes there had been no other reported damage to vessels traveling through the strait.
"Other than the South Korean ship, there has been, at this moment, no damage going through the Strait."
A press conference, the president writes, is set to take place where further details will be provided.

The tweet comes at a tense moment in the region as questions are raised over the ceasefire, which is already fragile.
