The 21-year-old Austrian citizen known as Beran A was facing charges in an assault plot case including terrorist offenses and his association with a terrorist organization, the Islamic State group.

The defendant’s attorney earlier said that he could plead guilty to most of the charges and face a sentence up to 20 years in prison.

Both Beran A. and Arda K, whose full identity remains hidden from the public, are currently standing trial for a foiled terror plot. Prosecutors allege that both individuals, alongside a third accomplice, conspired to launch coordinated Islamic State-inspired attacks across Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates in 2024. Despite their planning, the scheduled strikes were never executed.

Only Beran A. has been charged in connection with Taylor Swift’s concert attack.
