Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric 2.0 project will spawn a production model in the near future; has a lot of commonalities with the Himalayan 450

The Himalayan Electric 2.0 has officially been revealed in Milan, Italy. Following the initial showcase at last year’s EICMA, this latest version brings several key upgrades and new design elements. With the Himalayan Electric 2.0, Royal Enfield is focusing on refining the model further to create a more rugged and ready-to-launch electric ADV in the future.

The prototype takes several styling cues from the Himalayan 450 with a design that merges an adventure tourer with a fully-blown rally machine. It sports a familiar tall transparent windscreen and a round-shaped LED headlamp unit similar to the latest Himalayan. The motorcycle’s tank area also looks identical to that of its IC-engined sibling.

However, the enclosed nature of the battery pack and the electric motor makes the overall design cohesive and more compact than in the Himalayan 450. The Himalayan Electric 2.0 accompanies the Flying Flea C6 at the show floor in EICMA and the brand has also teased the S6 scrambler. Thus, RE is currently developing a trio of electric motorcycles for India.

The Flying Flea C6 has been confirmed to launch in Spring 2026 while the S6 could arrive a year later with the Himalayan EV likely reaching dealerships around the same timeframe. As one might expect, the battery pack and the e-motor are said to be brand new in the Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric 2.0 while the instrument console gets a new user interface.

It also features wire-spoked wheels finished in golden colour while the suspension duties are handled by front and rear disc brakes, supported by a dual-channel ABS system. It also gains a large swingarm and the rider sits tall on the motorcycle. It will boast an ample ground clearance, long wheelbase and mountings for touring accessories.

The electronic suspension is another key highlight of the Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric 2.0. An upside-down fork setup can be seen at the front. Like the Himalayan 450, the sleek LED turn indicators double up as the LED tail lamps.
