Royal Enfield Scram 440 With More Powerful Engine To Launch In 2025
by Surendhar M · GaadiWaadi.comRoyal Enfield Scram 440 will reportedly launch in India producing just over 25 bhp in the first half of next year
Royal Enfield is preparing to unveil the Goan Classic 350 at Motoverse 2024, scheduled from November 22 to 24. This launch caps off a busy year, beginning with the Shotgun 650’s release in early 2024, followed by the Guerrilla 450 and an updated Classic. Recently, the brand showcased the Interceptor Bear 650 scrambler and the Classic 650 at the EICMA show in Italy.
Simultaneously, work continues on updated versions of Royal Enfield’s 350 cc lineup while new 450 cc and 650 cc models are under development. Bear in mind that the Classic 650 will go on sale early next year. The Chennai-based manufacturer will reportedly introduce a new scrambler in 2025 and it will act as a replacement for the existing Scram 411.
This will help consolidate its scrambler range further while a new offering based on the 450 cc platform currently used by Guerrilla 450 and Himalayan 450 could also arrive in the future. The report notes that it will get a thorough redesign compared to the Scram 411, which is essentially a stripped-down version of the first-generation Himalayan.

It may also bring in new paint schemes to refresh the range. More interestingly, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 will utilise a 443 cc single-cylinder powertrain, re-engineered from the 411 cc unit found in the Scram 411. It will produce a maximum power output of over 25 bhp at 6,250 rpm – slightly more than the 24 bhp produced in the 411 cc mill.
The torque output will also increase but not by much. The engine will continue to be linked with a five-speed transmission. The chassis will also be tweaked but the suspension elements and the braking hardware could be carried over. RE may also include a revised instrument console. Expect the prices to start around Rs. 2.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Upon arrival, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 will take on Yezdi Scrambler, Hero Mavrick 400 and the recently launched Jawa 42 FJ. RE may also consider shipping this motorcycle to foreign markets as the Scram 411 is available in several international markets already.
