by · GaadiWaadi.com

Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 adopts a scrambler-inspired design which should make it more practical to ride on varied terrains

Royal Enfield’s latest 650 cc model, the Interceptor Bear 650, has been leaked in a production-spec rendering ahead of its likely global debut at EICMA 2024. This motorcycle shares several similarities with the current 650 cc lineup but retains its unique character. The Interceptor Bear 650 is expected to bring fresh elements to the range while continuing Royal Enfield’s legacy of blending classic design with modern performance.

Based on the Interceptor 650, it adopts a scrambler-inspired stance, enhancing its practicality for varied riding conditions. It comes equipped with a circular LED headlamp, a sleek fuel tank, a single-piece seat, and minimalistic body panels, all contributing to its rugged look. The design also includes a tubular grab rail and a circular LED tail lamp with a chrome casing, complemented by LED turn signals positioned on either side.

While many features are similar to other Royal Enfield 650 cc models, the Interceptor Bear 650 stands out with its unique two-into-one exhaust system, making it more compact and suitable for off-road riding. The contrasting body graphics and finishes give it a street-style appearance. Built on the same twin cradle chassis as the regular model, it includes key modifications to enhance its practicality and off-road performance.

In terms of performance, the Interceptor Bear 650 is powered by the familiar 648 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, delivering just over 47 PS of maximum power and 52 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed transmission and comes equipped with a slipper and assist clutch as standard. With the updated two-into-one exhaust system, the motorcycle is expected to have a different sound profile and a lighter overall weight.

The scrambler also comes with a floating single-pod instrument cluster that offers Bluetooth connectivity. Its suspension setup includes upside-down front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The braking system features disc brakes at both the front and rear, supported by a dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. Additionally, the bike rides on wire-spoked wheels fitted with block-pattern tyres, further boosting its off-road capability.
